The Villa - Occupancy time-line & Wappenshall 1871 census

In 2005, I managed to trace the ownership / occupancy of the Villa right back to the early 19th century. We are the 11th owners (there or thereabouts). We've also managed to trace the Wappenshall township right through from 1871; some details are included here but please contact us if you want to trace any (great) grandparents that might have lived in Wappenshall.

Let's start with ownership of The Villa. At one time, the Villa was sold together with its neighbour, Bridge House with a subsequent sale reallocating land in favour of Bridge House. Later on, The Villa reclaimed a "slice", which was "nice".

Below is the Wappenshall census listing for 1871. It lists William Turner, who's occupation was a "Wharfinger", against schedule 119 which was The Villa. Most occupants were Agricultural Labourers.
